The three smartphone brands from the China-based BBK Group — led by Realme — were the quickest expanding brands in the Indian smartphone sector in calendar year 2019, though Xiaomi remained flat and Samsung went into detrimental expansion (year-above-year), the Intercontinental Knowledge Corporation (IDC) explained on Friday.
Xiaomi led the sector with 28.6 % share and registered yearly shipments of 43.6 million models in 2019 — the greatest ever smartphone shipments made by any model in a year — but the expansion slumped to 9.2 % (YoY) in 2019 from 2018, IDC claimed.
Realme at fifth placement with ten.6 % sector share saw a huge 263.5 % expansion, Vivo with fifteen.6 % sector share registered 67 % expansion and Oppo with ten.7 % sector share logged sixty.5 % expansion in the calendar year 2019.
Samsung with twenty.6 % sector share saw – 2.8 % expansion in 2019. Its Galaxy M series, notably Galaxy M30s, performed very well in the on the internet section, in accordance to the IDC ‘Quarterly Cell Mobile phone Tracker.’
Overall, the BBK Group — sans its OnePlus model — registered 36.9 % sector share.
